The NDIS provides transport access to participants who can’t use public transport due to disability. Aside from personal transport-related aids, equipment, and training, it may also cover reasonable and necessary costs of taxis and other private transportation options and transportation to and from school.
However, the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency) must first assess whether transport support will assist you in reaching your goals, objectives, and aspirations before it can be included in your NDIS plan.
Transport funding will only be provided if the NDIA has deemed the support reasonable and necessary and whether it is related to your disability.

Although transport supports only cover the needs of participants and not for families, carers, or transport support providers, providers may claim reasonable travel time when delivering necessary support in the home or accompanying participants to access the community.
